Take Your Time to Present Your Business

How often do you regret having done something in a hurry, because afterwards when you’ve thought about it, all the words you could or should have said come flooding into your mind?   When you only have a minute to explain your business at a networking meeting, the temptation is to rush, cramming as many words in as you can.  If you do that, the audience is  likely to tune out and forget all of it.

Take your time and tune in
It helps to take your time. You could take a few gentle breaths to compose yourself, feel the energy  of  the person or people you are speaking to, and sense, before you open your mouth, what needs to be said.  We often have a fixed agenda about what we want to say and it’s not always what the audience needs to hear.  Through careful sensing and listening, it is possible to make a connection with people at a deep level.

When you are still you know what to say.
From a point of deep inner stillness, the heart always knows what to say, and your voice will carry the truth of who you are and what you present.  In this way you can inspire them and they will be drawn to do business with you.  It's the essence of who you are, not what you do, that is important and sets the stage to carry the rest.
